Non-Violent Crimes Defense Attorneys

Being charged with a non-violent crime doesn’t mean the consequences are minor. A conviction can still lead to jail time, probation, fines, loss of employment, and a permanent criminal record. At Dewrell & Dudley Attorneys at Law, we defend clients facing a wide range of non-violent criminal charges throughout Northwest Florida with skill, discretion, and dedication.

Non-violent offenses we handle include theft, fraud, embezzlement, drug possession, shoplifting, forgery, identity theft, probation violations, and more. We take the time to understand your situation and develop a personalized defense strategy focused on protecting your rights and minimizing the long-term impact on your life.

Our goal is to seek the most favorable outcome possible—whether that means negotiating reduced charges, pursuing diversion or rehabilitation programs, or fighting for a full dismissal. We also help eligible clients explore options for sealing or expunging criminal records.

Everyone makes mistakes. You deserve a legal team that sees the person behind the charges and is committed to protecting your future. Trust Dewrell & Dudley to stand up for you with integrity and experience.

Penalties for Non-Violent Crimes

If you are convicted of a non-violent crime, you will most likely face fines, criminal forfeiture and prison time. For example, if you are convicted of computer fraud you could face up to five years in prison and be forced to pay a $5,000 fine. For the same crime, you could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 if elements such as causing more than $5,000 in damage, interrupting government operations or disrupting public services were involved.

If you made a rash decision, we are prepared to protect your rights. There may be defenses available to you such as insufficient evidence, lack of intent, entrapment or illegal search or seizure.
